A very fine cluster of crystallized natrolite with very little attached matrix and crystals of heulandite. This is in very good condition. The Upper New Street Quarry in Paterson, New Jersey was a well known collecting locality in the basalt of the Watchung Mountains. Cavities in the basalt contained many zeolite minerals formed from mineral rich fluids circulating through the rock. Collectors found species such as apophyllite, datolite, prehnite, laumontite and several zeolites in these pockets. The quarry became famous among mineral collectors for the variety and quality of minerals found in the basalt cavities.
