This distinctive form of Calcite - columns of stacked disc-like colour-zoned cream to beige crystals - is a classic from the Cínovec/Zinnwald area straddling the border between Germany and Czechia. This nice miniature-sized display of this unusual crystal habit comes from Hans Engelbrecht's collection and presents two 'stacks' with 'dragon's scale'-like overlapping platy/columnar crystals draped down one side.
