Nickeline
A significant, well-crystallized, small cabinet nickeline specimen from this historic mine in Saxony, Germany. Numerous, complex, bright, coppery-rose metallic crystals averaging 1 cm are aesthetically distributed on this fine nickeline small cabinet piece. These are very sharp and fine for the species, and most likely were protected from time by luck of being encased in calcite, later carefully removed at the lab. The entire piece is composed of nickeline and is in excellent condition. Nickeline is a relatively rare nickel arsenide and the best examples come from here. Pieces this good are rare from the famous deposits in this area and this is just an excellent specimen with a refined look for this material. Part of Paul Stahl's important German suite.
