Creedite
This is classic material from a single large discovery of creedite at the Navidad Mine in Mexico that resulted in the world's largest volume find for species! It is also the only notable find with these astonishing, hedgehog-like clusters of orange crystals. Previously, creedite was a fairly rare mineral, however, this find and numerous finds elsewhere has made it slightly more common. This piece from Paul Stahl's collection is quite aesthetic and is composed of one prominent spray, a subordinate spray and a myriad of glistening crystals scattered all over the matrix ranging from a few millimeters up to 3 cm, with a few doubly terminated! The majority of the crystals are medium translucent to transparent orange and some transition to nearly colorless and all of them are very lustrous and just sparkle! While older collectors considered the best crystals to be lavender colored specimens from a few other locations, these orange creedite have a beauty, quality, flash, and generally an overall specimen size that provide more impact, well beyond what was found in the past at other localities. This is a particularly elegant specimen from these famous finds in the early 2000s. A particularly nice specimen for the find in this size range, and they are now unavailable.
