Kutnohorite and Calcite$2,250.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Exceptionally aesthetic specimen of kutnohorite showing its classic form of needle-like crystals growing in a radial cluster. A single pocket provided rare specimens that were capped by white calcite crystals/spheres, and this particular thumbnail was originally acquired directly from the source (Paul Botha Minerals, South Africa). Attractive and intriguing, this top-flight piece has the added bonus of the calcites having an intense orange fluorescence. It is illustrated in The Rockhound Record, Mineralogical Society of Arizona, 2017; 76(4): 46, and the recently published in Mineralogical Record, Refined Elegance: The Small Treasures of Mineralogy, November 2022 (full page, on 112). Previously in the Paul Botha and Alex Schauss collections. Paul was a very important South African mineral dealer and Alex assembled perhaps the most important overall collection of thumbnails with breadth of fine examples of many species.
