From the less well-known La Pita Mine of Colombia, this miniature features a superb, gemmy, intensely-green, emerald crystal classically set on calcite matrix. In association with this lustrous emerald is a very rare parisite crystal, whose type locality is in the same province. The translucent, brown, and resinous parisite crystal is about 7 mm tall as it sits upright on the matrix. The emerald is 6 mm so they balance in size - although both are small, they are razor sharp and gorgeous, translucent to transparent crystals of their species; and in remarkable proximity! Each crystal is outstanding on its own merits, but together they make for an exceptional combination that is balanced, rare, and beautiful.
