Anglesite on Galena$12,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This is a fine anglesite cluster from Touissit, which is generally regarded as having produced the world's best examples of the species. Unlike most, it is on actual matrix (of galena). The bladed crystals, gemmy to translucent, display beautifully as they stand upright on the galena matrix. The crystals in the photos are about 2.2 cm, though the largest anglesite does technically reach about 4 cm, although it is partially included by galena and therefore not gemmy and colorful for the bottom portion. The gemmy anglesite crystal is particularly unique in the mineral world for the combination of color, clarity, and symmetry. Under UV light, the cores of the crystals have a muted fluorescence that varies from gold to deep red, which is a nice indication of internal zoning. Likely from the classic finds of the early 1980s, this aesthetic small-cabinet piece was previously in the Mitch Bernardi collection; although it came from us before he bought it, perhaps around 2005-2010 or so. Sadly, I cannot recall the older history, but we did have this in the early 2000s, as the geometry is quite memorable. Nothing like this has been found since the 1980s! No repair or restoration help to elevate this to a fairly significant small cabinet sized specimen.
