Devilline
This is from the OLD FINDS here, as with famous specimens in the museums of Vienna and London. The saturated color and large crystal size are giveaways. Exquisitely perched on matrix are rosettes of devilline, an uncommon hydrated calcium-copper sulfate. The specimen is smothered in teal-colored crystals of devilline, to 2 mm across. Beautifully crystallized and colorful, this is also one of the ultimate beautiful rarities that are hard to get in any quality beyond micros! The specimen surely dates to the early or mid 1800s, and the heyday of mining here. It was one of the major copper species specimens from the award-winning copper thumbnails-toenails exhibit case of Roland Sherman.
