Devilline is one of the classic copper minerals of Europe, and the finest of these are from Spania Dolina (formerly called Herrengrund). This beautiful Devilline specimen has numerous emerald-green "rosettes" of tabular blades, on matrix. The luster can be quite vitreous in parts, and the largest of these spherical clusters reaches about 8 mm across. Beyond that, these rosettes then group into larger clusters. Colorful and attractive, this specimen is relatively rich. These old and robust specimens are better than modern finds and are next to impossible to obtain on the market these days, and they are highly sought after by European collectors. A.E Foote label attached (early 1900s).
