A beautiful blue crystallized lazulite growing along one edge of the matrix from the classic locality of Werfen in Austria, offered with its antique label likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The deep azure crystals display excellent color and form typical of this historic Alpine site, and the piece shows slight damage consistent with its age. Lazulite from Werfen is prized by collectors for its rich blue hues and is part of the long mineralogical legacy of the Hochkoenig and Berchtesgaden region where fine metamorphic minerals have been studied and collected since the 19th century. With strong aesthetic appeal and antique provenance, this specimen is a desirable addition to collections of classic European mineral material.
