Halite “The Stair Step,” 8.5 cm, from the Kerr McGee mine, Carlsbad Potash District, Eddy County, New Mexico; collected with Javier Valenzuela. While not as large as some of the crystals found, this specimen is probably the most aesthetic of the entire find. It was featured on the cover of the German periodical Lapis. Private collection.
