Calcite occurs in many colors: here as peach from an unknown locality in Mexico; pink-red from the Mashamba West mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo; violet from the Dodo mine in Russia; green from the Santo Niña mine in Mexico; and golden brown from Rosarito Beach, Baja California, Mexico. Faceted by Mike Gray, Art Grant, and Jay Medici respectively, they range from 12 to 40 carats. Photo by Jeff Scovil.
