Species: Cuproriviate and Papagoite
THIS is rare: Cuprorivaite and Papagoite included Quart from the 2011 Fireworks Pocket at the Artonvilla Mine, South Africa
What a stunning rare specimen found in 2011, known as the “Fireworks Pocket”. While some blue, needle-like inclusions in Messina quartz were previously debated, the distinct blocky crystals found in the 2011 Fireworks Pocket were identified as Cuprorivaite.
Cuprorivite from the 2011 Fireworks Pocket at the Artonvilla Mine (Messina District, South Africa) refers to rare, intense blue, often blocky (tetragonal) crystal inclusions found in quartz, sometimes accompanied by Papagoite. These specimens are highly prized, with only a few examples identified in this specific locality
The aesthetics of this specimen is impressive, the Quartz glassy and the balance perfect.
What a "killer" from there. In my personal collection.
Location: From Messina District, South Africa
Measures: 6.8 x 4.2 x 3.9 cm in total size.
