Wow. The sculptural properties of this Ray mine Cuprite on Native Copper leap straight out at you. We are all familiar with the excellent branching dendritic crystallized Native Copper specimens from Ray mine, but much rarer are those, like this, where the Native Copper is encased in a layer of glossy, deep red Cuprite crystals. A little Native Copper is still exposed, but the majority of this specimen is excellent well-formed Cuprite crystals presenting a wonderful wet-like glossy lustre. At 11.6 cm tall, this piece is not only full of exuberant character, but makes for an extremely fine cabinet-sized display piece. Sheer class from Ray mine, Arizona.
