The 79 Mine at Chilito, Hayden, Dripping Spring Mountains, Gila Co., Arizona is a renowned American location for excellent zinc-bearing secondary species, in particular Hemimorphite and Smithsonite. Both species occur there in many different colours, but for Hemimorphite, the pale duck-egg blue spherules are certainly one of the most handsome. This stunning larger miniature specimen really is a gorgeous thing. The spherules reach 9 mm in diameter and the way they are evenly distributed across a contrasting beige coloured rock matrix really makes them stand out. A really rather pretty Hemimorphite.
