Yuba River nuggets exhibit a super bright, but richer-hued golden color saturation that is different than their Australian counterparts, as they contain a bit of trace elements. The Yuba River placer deposits are known for gold nuggets, which formed somewhere else and washed down into the river valley ages ago. This interesting and shapely gold nugget is from the famous, classic goldfields of the Mother Lode district of northern California. From an old collection, although we cannot say how old it was. This pancake shaped thick gold nugget masses 56.8 grams (approx 1.5 ounces).
