Although there is some minor quartz included, the weight of the quartz is negligible and this is largely gold bullion value by weight; and yet it is from a historic Arizona locality which comes with a premium to the collector. The look of it is quite different from Cali or Aussie gold, in person. From the Marshall Sussman collection, thought to have been found somewhat prior to his acquisition of the piece when he was collecting nice location golds in 2005-2015. These were known back in the 1800s. Even today, people go to the area with metal detectors and finding small nuggets is not unknown. This large miniature is actually elegant for what it is, and looks somewhat like a saddle. Please note that it seems to have never been chemically cleaned and could brighten up in gold cleaner, though we liked the antique look. 79.9 grams of nearly solid Arizona gold!
