If larger display specimens are your thing then this honey coloured Calcite from Tsumeb mine is a real cracker. It comes from the generations-old Weyand Collection in Tsumeb and despite being many decades old is in wonderful condition. Yes, there are a few minor nibbles along the edges of several crystals, but these are really not at all noticeable when one sits and admires its resounding features. Obviously scale is a big plus, with razor-edged sharp rhombic crystals reaching an impressive 5 cm on edge. However, size is not the "be all and end all" and in this case it is the sumptuous golden honey colour and extremely glossy, gemmy appearance of the crystals which stands out most. This is a stunning Calcite even without a provenance but to know that it comes from Tsumeb mine adds another layer of class.
