At small cabinet size, and almost entirely covered in a thick layer of well-crystallized beige-coloured Mimetite this represents a very fine world Mimetite. It might not be the highly lustrous orange hexagonal crystals from China or Thailand, the burnt-orange barrel-shaped crystals from Dry Gill in England, or yellow globular aggregates from Mexico, but this rich aggregated form of crystals is very much classic Tsumeb mine and is distinctive in its own right. Each 'crystal' is actually a fan-like, or parallel grouping of many beige to cream coloured acicular Mimetite crystals, with silky to resinous lustre. There is only minor damage to one or two of the crystal groupings, otherwise this is a really excellent smaller display specimen of Tsumeb Mimetite. Ex Weyand Collection.
