Calcite
The 'Ice Cream' Pocket was a famous find of Calcite at Tsumeb mine in the late 1970s or 1980s. It gained its name for the unique habit of Calcite crystals, occurring as very pale mint-green to almost white intergrown rhombic crystals whose surface glistens like ice from a thin layer of later tiny colourless rhombic Calcite crystals overgrowing the surface. This larger miniature specimen presents this classic form perfectly, overgrowing a small core of orange Calcite/Dolomite. In overall very fine condition and displays nicely. Ex Kessler Collection.
