When it comes to gold nuggets there really is nowhere better than Australia but what is more remarkable is that even within the enormity of the Australian continent significant nuggets have been found right across it. This spectacular 79 gram (2.46 oz) nugget is entirely Native Gold and being naturally quite flattened means that its overall display area is really significant, reaching 7.8 cm in length by 2.8 cm wide. It is from Kalgoorlie-Boulder Shire in Western Australia, which is a long, vast, linear district, running eastwards from Kalgoorlie and the famous 'Golden Mile'. This is world-famous gold-mining 'country'. Traditionally, gold nuggets found in the desert are never given precise provenance details. Ex Siber and Siber Collection.
