Native Tellurium, or the natural form of pure metallic tellurium, is rarely seen in anything larger than microscopic quantities. However, the Kochbulak Au-Ag-Te Deposit in Uzbekistan is an anomaly, having rarely produced very visible larger silvery metallic aggregates of crystallized Native Tellurium. This smaller miniature specimen is one such piece, featuring an area of almost mirror bright, silvery Native Tellurium, extending to 1.6 x 1.5 cm. It is hosted by siliceous Pyrite-infused matrix. A small handwritten note accompanying the specimen records that it was acquired in 1992. This is undoubtedly an impressively rich example of this rare element.
