Marcasite
Anton mine at Wieden, Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg, Germany is not often seen represented by mineral specimens, but this spectacular botryoidal aggregate of intergrown 'scales' of golden metallic Marcasite is certainly one to catch your eye. Operated as a silver mine from the 1930s through until the 1970s, Anton mine was dominated by veins of Fluorite. This unusual iron sulphide specimen from there is both big and dramatic at 19 cm in length. Ex Hettrich Collection.
