The blue colour of the botryoidal Hemimorphite from Sa Duchessa mine at Oridda in Sardinia, Italy is pretty much unique in the world of Hemimorphite mineralogy. There are lighter blue shades seen in historic 19th century specimens from Roughton Gill in the Caldbeck Fells, but the deepness of the blue from Sa Duchessa is remarkable, as is the size that specimens attain. This small cabinet-sized lovely bubbly botryoidal plate of Hemimorphite is a really great display of this but does have a couple of small 'bruises' on the surface which is what has lowered the price on this piece.
