We do not often see tanzanite on matrix, let alone MULTIPLE crystals on matrix of any kind (usually massive clunky calcite); and even more so with bicolored crystals! This specimen features not one but two crystals on matrix of another crystallized species, with amazing subtle aesthetics every time you look. The tanzanites are yellow tipped with pale purple-blue cores. They are both doubly-terminated, pristine, without repair; and measure 4 cm and 3.5 cm. They are complete all around, so you can display this any angle! The contrast to diopside with sparkling graphite matrix attached is beautiful. This adorable miniature is special for many reasons and I could not resist buying it from the former owner, dealer/collector Jessalynn Bergmann, when she went to other mineral tastes. She had collected and followed tanzanite for decades and purchased this from a fresh find long ago, for her personal collection. We have simply not seen anything like this, on matrix. No repairs, no restorations.
