This work of lapidary art is made from old tourmaline rough material (presumably from Minas Gerais in Brazil), and carved by famous master carver Gerd Dreher of Idar-Oberstein. The piece is exquisitely detailed and looks alive and kinetic. We see his signature on the back, so we know that it was carved by Gerd Dreher, the former patron of the gem house now passed on to his son Patrick Dreher, who continues his legacy. 282 grams of old school tourmaline, in a beautiful lifelike carving. Ex. James Zigras collection.
