This sparkling and pretty baby blue specimen is a complex story in and of itself. The chrysocolla is formed as a full pseudomorph (replacement) after what used to be malachite crystals, faithfully replacing them and preserving their form. You can tell by the weight, that the malachite, a heavy copper mineral, is all gone. Atop the chrysocolla is a glittery sparkle of tiny quartz, like a sugary coating atop the whole thing, as if poured atop. There are several layers of chrysocolla growth, all covered in sparkling mist. While many of these were found in 2022-2025, most simply lacked the sparkle and pizzazz of a quartz coating, or the geometry you see here. This is a special miniature-sized specimen with such color and presence that it leaps out to the eye. Excepting only one missing termination on a sidecar crystal to a side as you might display it, this is intact and complete all around. Better in person!
