A sparkly, very unusual and very showy fluorite cabinet specimen coated with pyrite from the famous Yaogangxian Mine in China! Gemmy to translucent, pale blue, stepped, Mayan pyramid-shaped "cubes" to 7 cm across are partially covered by a thin, but copius layer of glittery, brass-yellow, micro pyrite crystals that cover some of the front-facing faces, especially at the top, and less so on the sides that makes for an eye-catching specimen! Rarely have I seen this type of composition of pyrite on fluorite from anywhere! Although rare from this location, these pyrite crusts on fluorite are found time to time - I have known of 3 or 4 pockets over the early 2000s. But they are, indeed, quite uncommon. From 2019 finds at the Yaogangxian Mine. Very aesthetic!
