Fluorite
This really choice fluorite-celestine miniature is from finds in 2007-2008 at Clay Center, Ohio. This piece features four larger, transparent to translucent, root beer colored fluorites associated with several, stout blades of contrasting white celestine. The fluorites have superb luster, and the gemminess is accented by definitive zoning within the crystal that varies from light root beer color on the periphery to rich, alternating dark and medium root beer brown colors for much of the interior of the crystals. The fluorites vary in size from 1.8 to 2.8 cm on edge, and the celestines are between 1.5 and 3 cm in their longest dimension. The piece is in excellent condition with complete all around, with only a couple of compromised corners on the bottom one in the back out of sight and very slight, barely noticeable issues with the other crystals. This is actually in remarkably good condition for the size, style and the fact it was collected so many years ago. As a bonus, the fluorite is highly fluorescent. The piece has great aesthetics and balance. Good ones like this are very difficult to come by these days!
