Tucson, Arizona, USAPhoenix mine in Keweenaw Co., Michigan, USA is one of the most famous places for stunning crystals of Native Copper in Michigan state. Less seen at Phoenix mine is crystallized Prehnite. This very large miniature specimen from David Hardman's Native Copper collection is a vuggy aggregate of pale green botryoidal Prehnite within which small branches of tarnished Native Copper protrude. Within cavities the Prehnite is crystallized, with the botryoids comprising curved glossy crystals. Elsewhere on the specimen the more massive areas of Prehnite are much paler, almost white in colour, with at least one epimorphous cast visible, where a scalenohedral Calcite crystal which has long-since gone was overgrown by Prehnite.
