This fascinating specimen is clearly of considerable age judging by its accompanying turned wooden plinth and black wax mount. The specimen is currently detached from this stand, but it should not prove too difficult for it to be remounted. With a slightly branching form the Native Silver is largely coated in dull grey-black Acanthite. To add to its wonder, this piece is from the famed historic silver-mining town of Freiberg in Saxony, Germany, where one of the world's first mining schools was founded. Ex Martin Bohaty Collection.
