This rich, dense, crystallized Baryte specimen, with its unusually narrow, curved, wedge-shaped crystals is quite distinctly from the famous Clara mine in the Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Classic material, the crystals are the typical cream-orange colour, but with the usual slight zonation from light to dark. Never gemmy, the Baryte crystals, which reach 4 cm in length, display the usual matt surface appearance seen with Clara mine Baryte of this form. Cabinet in size overall, the crystals are all in very good condition - even the very sharp chisel-like tips. Ex Hettrich Collection.
