This is a lovely Fluorite from one of the more recent Fluorspar-Baryte mines to open in Germany. Situated right on the border with the Czech Republic, the Niederschlag mine commenced work in 2010, exploiting veins associated with a mid-20th century uranium mine. Although miniature in size, this piece is dominated by a quite large (for the mine), and very well-formed pale sea-green translucent cubic Fluorite crystal. Tiny individual colourless Quartz crystals are sparsely scattered across the surface of the Fluorite crystal faces and the overall broadly equidimensional shape presents really nicely.
