At 2.8 cm in length this individual Elbaite tourmaline crystal is a little more than thumbnail in size but its intense teal blue/green colour and excellent translucency really make it stand out. Its stunning bluish-green colour extends three-quarters of its length transitioning upwards into pale pink and then sherry to pale olive brown-green at its termination which is a somewhat rough-textured three-sided pyramid. With appropriate directional lighting this crystal looks superb. It is from the modern day operations at Coronel Murta in Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais state, Brazil.
