Carletonite, Aegirine

Unknown Owner
Carletonite is a very rare phyllosilicate mineral, found in only two places in the world. This specimen comes from the type locality for the species, the Poudrette quarry on Mont Saint-Hilaire in Québec, Canada, where it was first discovered and described in 1969. This is a very cute and gemmy example with a nice aegirine association. Rare!
