Collector’s EdgeFeatured
This is a wonderful example of multi-color rhodochrosite crystals on contrasting black manganite matrix from the Kalahari Manganese Fields, Northern Cape Province, South Africa. The N’Chwanning mines are world famous for their superb rhodochrosite crystals, which occur in a dazzling array of morphologies and associations. This classic type of rhodochrosite was mainly found in the 1970s and ’80s, and is somewhat of a hybrid between the well-known ‘wheat sheaf’ type crystallization and the tightly-meshed scalenohedral crystal style. An aesthetic classic! Includes custom base.
