When one thinks of amethyst, India is probably not the first locality that comes to mind. Despite this, the Kakamunurle Mine in India produced some excellent quality amethyst in the early 2000s and beyond. This is a highly characteristic specimen for this locale – highly gemmy with deep color. A nice example for this harder-to-find locality.
