Collector’s EdgeFeatured
In the 1990s to early 2000s, the Dzhezakzgan mine in Kazakhstan produced what are arguably the world’s finest bornite crystals. Bornite is a copper iron sulfide mineral that is a important ore of copper. While it is a fairly common mineral, large well formed crystals of bornite are very seldom seen anywhere in the world, making these Kazakhstani specimens highly desirable amongst sulfide collectors or copper mineral collectors.
