Measuring 5.5 cm tip-to-tip, this large, complete “floater” (no point of attachment) rhodochrosite crystal from the Sweet Home Mine in Alma, Colorado, USA has excellent deep cherry-red color and well-formed faces. An absolute American mineral classic, this fine large rhodochrosite crystal is from the heyday of rhodochrosite specimen mining at the Sweet Home Mine, 1992-2004. This large crystal was found in 2004, shortly before the mine closed. A superb single rhodochrosite crystal from one of the world’s premier localities for this sought-after mineral.
