Barite from Arbor Low, Derbyshire, England, presented as a polished example of the classic "Oakstone" variety. This old specimen represents the distinctive brown, wood grain patterned barite for which Arbor Low is well known, showing the characteristic concentric banding and texture that give Oakstone its name. Historically collected from veins in the Carboniferous limestones of Derbyshire, these polished pieces have long been appreciated by collectors for their unique appearance and connection to one of England's traditional mineral localities.
