A thick section of tantalite-Mn with feldspar and muscovite. This is really quite neat for the species for this famous Virginia pegmatite. Two previous labels come with the specimen, they note that at one time this specimen was part of the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences collection. There is no label from that collection however with the specimen. There is a number on the bottom of the specimen that relates to that however.
