A breathtaking electric blue azurite from Bisbee. This is one of the nicest aesthetically balanced specimens of this particular style that I have seen. These distinctive bright blue specimens came from the 770 Level of the Junction Mine and are perched on a “dry bone” smithsonite matrix. The bright blue is not an overgrowth after malachite upon examination of the back side. The this piece was likely mined 1920-1930 which fits with the dates of the Harold Eales collection from which it came. The Harold Eales label states that it was obtained from Peter Bancroft. A huge thank you to Evan Jones and his immense knowledge and kindness with helping to obtain more information about this specimen.
