Chalcopyrite var. Blister Copper
The rare, smooth botryoidal form of Chalcopyrite known, for obvious reasons as 'Blister Copper' is little-known outside of the county of Cornwall in England and yet it has been known for centuries and was found in several different mines across the county. Looking like polished burnished brass this material is iconically Cornish and wonderfully collectible. This miniature specimen of this classic is from the famous Levant mine situated a few miles from Land's End. Ex Malcolm Southwood collection, no. MS 2014.217 and ex Cowan collection.
