The saturation in colour in this small miniature sized individual terminated prismatic Elbaite tourmaline from Coronel Murta in Minas Gerais state, Brazil is incredible. Its base is admittedly paler - a light raspberry to almost bubblegum pink - but upwards to its termination the colour deepens and intensifies to a stunning deep raspberry red to cranberry red colour. With gemmy, glassy surfaces it is very bright, and is fully terminated but is missing part of one lower edge of a prism side but is still a stunning red tourmaline. It is mounted on a small acryllic chamfeured base for display.
