Native Silver specimens from Elkhorn mine in the Elkhorn Mining District, Jefferson Co., Montana are rare things indeed. The mine was one of the richest silver producers in the northwest USA but had closed by 1912. This fine, off-matrix small miniature crystallized specimen is actually a really impressive size for this occurrence. It displays a somewhat skeletal form and with an old-looking patina.
