A thick bed of really well crystallized Sphalerite with sharp triangular faces makes this cabinet-sized specimen from the famous Wheal Jane mine in Cornwall, England. Fine Sphalerite crystals are uncommon in Cornwall, but Wheal Jane was one of the exceptions. Wheal Jane was one of the more recent Cornish mines to operate and this specimen likely dates to the 1980s or 1990s workings.
