From the quiet collection of our friend, mentor, and legendary mineral dealer Herb Obodda, this is a superb competitive-level miniature of the famed cuprite specimens from Onganja that came out in the 1970s-80s. It has amazing symmetry, stunning cherry red color when backlit, and is just a perfect crystal with sharpness, whereas many are rather lumpy or partial. Herb opened up Pakistan and Afghanistan for minerals, but at the same time was a lover of classics and built an extensive collection specializing in classic finds, particularly miniatures and thumbnails. We were honored to purchase this in 2008-09 and sold this shortly after. It is an honor and a bit of fun to have it back again, as it was so memorable.
