A rich specimen of fine gem cerussite crystals, of a quality you would normally associate with Tsumeb, but from the old Bunker Hill Lead Mine in Idaho, USA! These kinds of crystals, in such quality, are seldom seen and we are guessing that this one date to the 1960s-70s. While the mine was an economic lead mine at some times in history, it really did not produce much in the way of specimens until the pyromorphites, some people think. This is wrong. it actually, in historical times back to the early 1900s, produced cerussite and silver. They had small value, and few were saved by miners. But they are American cerussites and of exquisite quality. These crystals show several habits including single cerussite blades and twinned crystals of several styles. They are bright and glassy, hard to photograph! An old piece, with a dealer label from Silver Capital Arts (an old dealership in Wallace, Idaho).
