Azurite "roses" from Bisbee are widely famous, and have been desired since the time they started coming out in the early 1900s. Few were ever found on matrix. Here is a superb miniature with unusual aesthetics for these classic old-time Bisbee mineral combinations. This piece features very sharp, beautiful, deep blue azurite crystals upon contrasting malachite, in an aesthetic and 3-dimensional combination. It is likely from the early 1900s, and comes from the Kosnar Family Collection (Richard to Brian Kosnar). All on a classic Bisbee limonite matrix. The azurite "rose" is 2.5 cm tall. This is truly a competitive-quality miniature of an old USA classic, for which more will simply never be found.
