This is an extremely gemmy Dioptase from Mindouli District in Pool Department, Republic of Congo. Small miniature, or very large thumbnail in size, it is an almost pure aggregate of well-formed rhombic prisms of glassy emerald-green Dioptase crystals individually reaching 4.5 mm in size. The small amount of matrix on the back probably contains pale blue Plancheite.
